After you perform a search in SmartTax, the matching property records will display in the Simple Results view by default. Simple Results only shows the property address, parcel ID, and owner’s name. There will most likely be times where this simply is not enough information for you, and you need to be able to quickly view additional property record information. That is where Custom Results comes into play.
Custom Results is a customized single line view that you create yourself with the property information that you find most useful. It puts you in control of what you see when you perform a search and display the results.
To set up your Custom Results, click the Settings button in the upper right-hand corner:
Once the Settings screen opens, click Custom Results List:
Your first option at the top of the page is to select your default results view – either Simple View or Custom View:
Put a dot in front of Custom View.
Once you have selected your default view, you can then choose the 10 fields that you want to display on your custom report.
There are 35 fields to choose from:
Use the icon to place your selected fields in the order you would like (via drag and drop).
Don’t forget to click the Save button at the bottom of the list when you are done selecting your fields and placing them in your desired order.
The Custom Results view is interactive and allows you many ways to work with your search results.
- You can sort the property records by clicking once on any of the column names.
Note: this will sort all pages of your search result, not just the page you are currently viewing.

- Additionally, you can adjust the width of the columns by placing your mouse cursor over the separator between the column names and then dragging it to your desired width:
